Didcot Street Fair

I went to one of my local christmas street fairs, Didcot street fair on the 25th of November with my friend Charlotte and now I officially feel the countdown to all things festive can begin. (I’m a bit of a Scrooge until i go to a street fair to be honest).

I’ve been going to Didcot Street Fair for over 10 years now, since I moved to Oxford and have always been, either with group of friends when I was at school (It was the biggest social event of the year), and more recently one or two friends since going to college/work and people have drifted off/moved away.

The theme this year was ‘Broadway Musicals’ which was reflected in the town parade running from one side of town to the other and ending at the older part, near to the library. There was an Olaf (Frozen), the car from Grease and the cast from the New Theatre Oxford production starting in Oxford Summer 2017, The batmobile (not sure what this had to do with anything but hey).

The Orchard Centre had lots of food, charity stalls, tombolas, local businesses information stalls, and by Sainsburys there was a massive performance stage which had various singers and bands performing throughout, from 5:30 till the end of the fair at 9pm.

Have any of you been to your local fair yet?

How was it? I’d love to hear all about it 🙂
